⧯: I was born from South African political refugees who moved to Kythera in the 1970s; they were told "you have a beautiful house but there is no life in it"; when I was born they called me Ζωή

☮: What's your thoughts about everyday life in Greece?

⧯:...let's see what the future holds...Greece can be a scary place. I have started making an aromatic garden these days so I'm spending quite a bit of time researching Mediterranean plants, for which the climate is very conducive.

☮: Whats your relationship with authority in general? 

⧯:You know, I cannot understand whether sometimes I'm a bit of a dick with authority or it is the other way around.

☮: What makes a poet nowdays?

⧯:: Language, denial, strange syntax. Concision—while paradoxically wanting “every kind of life,” per Sontag: “What I really wanted was every kind of life, and the writer’s life seemed the most inclusive.”

☮: Do you read a poem in the same way that you may "read" a painting?

⧯:: No.

☮: What's your favourite title of a poem or artwork?

⧯:: Poem: “Amorgos,” by Nikos Gatsos (at the moment). Artwork? I love the titles of Michel Auder’s moving-image works—Heads in Love (1970/2009) sounds like a certain kind of British paperback novel; I Am So Jealous of Birds (2001) always cracks me up. But I also like “Untitled” in almost every language.

☮ What do you do exactly?

⧯: I am a dad, a linguist, a lover (she said) and becoming Deleuzian. IRL I grade papers and drive my girlfriend around.

☮ Have you ever thought to invent a new English word? if yes how that would be?

⧯: I had. Yesterday. But forgot what. The beauty of communication is in between words; words are rough designators around which the slight ephemera of meaning gather. So if that word was invented it’d be a blunt sketch of the linguistically uncovered notion—it’s just as well I forgot.

☮ :Does it influence you emotionally the language you are speaking? and if yes can you tell me an example?

⧯: Ashamed to say I only speak English properly. I get very irritated when tones of language, an essential and very private and precious tool, are used manipulatively in the grotesque neo-liberal “let-us-work-for-you” farce. Companies assuming the voice of a friend, from the non-capitalized smoothie to British Airways “To Fly – To Serve” logo drive me mad. I AM NOT YOUR MATE.

Born to white immigrants in Wherever UK. Grew up weird, got a trade, lost my shit, found it back. Came out as 'artist' & the rest is history

☮:What's the most interesting thing you heard recently?

⧯: That the ancient stone lions that appear in eg Athens are a sort of word of mouth meme that travelled from Mesopotamia and that's why they look so funny, because nobody had ever seen one. 

☮: What makes you still living in London?

⧯ : At one point I felt like I would be useful, like there weren't many of my kind here so I should stick around and represent for my community. These days I just don't know, except that everyone has to live somewhere

 ⧯:As a child I was almost constantly naked, preferring life outdoors, trees, mud and mischief. Now as an adult artist my preoccupations are the same. The body, our connection with the earth our identity and sexuality being the points that most excite and fascinate me. 

☮:How would you define the attitude of your generation of artists?

⧯:YAAAS! Bored, nervous, excited, productive, lazy, fun everything-all-at-oncers. There are so many people with varying agendas. While the consciousness of the market increases and the inability of anyone but the rich to live in any of the worlds metropolis' it can sometimes feel as though only one kind of voice is being heard. But the attitude is still very eager and hungry. Which is exciting.

⧯:We have really good artists in Greece and the scene its at its best since 2005 when i returned. Im very excited with what is yet to come. Surprises are essential.

Nothing to declare as travelling from EU country

Less publicly more solemnly I declare that I am (afunnykindof) loyal, like "a dog". And that I believe this may be the way forward.

☮ Angelo: Tell us the story of your life:

★ Valentinas: If the story of life is a song, I'm still not sure about its refrain. Is it 

"I will continue 

to sing, however,

I have no voice" 

or

"I have no voice.

However, I will 

go on."

☮ Angelo: I really liked the idea that Art works as a teleportation machine. Can you explain and elaborate a bit?

★ Valentinas: While being teenagers we used to go to exhibitions to trip, only without LSD or any other psycho-active substances. Thus for us experiencing an artwork meant to be acknowledged to the new ways how to organise and experience the world as a superstructure of various possibilities. This is how drugs work, right? I guess it also has something to do with the idea that exhibition is a subjective imaginary space which consists out of different entries via n amount of individual artworks rather than a sum of linear experiences. 
Thus you enter this exhibition space via n individual ports and you do it at different times, typically once for an artwork. And at certain point to really understand this exhibition space you have to meet all those yourselves entering this exhibition space at different times. If it happens it all happens mostly in your head, as a meeting of all your sensual and motoric memories, however this experience may be called travelling in space and time. 
Having in mind that, we have to remind ourselves that scientific idea of teleportation is something very different from what we see in movies - it works more as a 3D printer or a copy machine than an elevator or a door bringing us from one place to another. Thus to really experience an exhibition you are forced to organise a meeting with all of you experiencing all the artworks in an exhibition, a bit like in “Being John Malkovich” movie. It’s more inspiring than scaring, though. However, it happens very seldom.

I love giving unlimited freedom to the silver attendees and I want to understand the essence of your silver couch contribution. Can you explain?

A connection between the physicality of earth and the human came under scrutiny due to its overly feminized past. But here we are again. The human body as a means for sensualizing nature. Lets take mine for example. Look at its outline and imagine the silvery Greek sea and mountains in the background. Do what you want with it in your mind. It is, indeed, a distinct portrayal of vulnerability. A vulnerability that goes hand in hand with an increasingly open-source system of making art. Simultaneously however, we need, more than ever, to retain a sense of the singularity of personality (due to egotistical and market pressures amongst others). It is the times of the Dissolution of Self/Genius of Me. Hit Me.

Tell us your story of your life in 140 ch

Born in the seventies, lost my father when I was 16, studied engineering, left the faculty, started meditation, the result is in front of you.

Do you see interesting things in our era now?

Plurality! Sometimes I would like to be a recording device myself – ears and eyes enhanced -or be affected by a Savant syndrome of some sort, to be able to treasure every single detail of the era I'm passing through. Plus, my personal experience is often combined with a filmic memory: everything in my mind is so mixed and overlapped that I confuse the so-called phenomenological reality with sequences from movies and video clips and this increases my excitement and joy. And internet too.. I think it's pretty rare to experience a picture - in - picture world, shifting in and out from different perceptual existences. Of course, in this kind of holographic cosmos contradictions and distortions are multiplied too, as if we were in a house of mirrors. I try to be careful but not to back out of it.

What would you like to do in 1 year from now?

Spend more time in the Mediterraneo and have a garden.

What's the most interesting being a design curator?

Objects have no race, no religion, no sex orientation, no bank account but every person, every history, and every geography expressed itself through them.

What’s the most interesting thing living in Milan?

Milan lives of short circuits, connects the tradition with the future, is Italian and yet very international, is easily navigable but hides its precious secrets.

Why do you live in Istanbul ?

I m asking myself the same question, 'Mirko, why do you live in istanbul?'

There is a feeling of belonging in this place from the first moment you are in, at the same time all is transformed into a nightmare then peace again, it's a city swinging between excitement, inspiration and uplifting feelings vs sadness, frustration, detachment.

What are you doing exactly ?

Starting with the fact that i dont like to define myself and i guess I would not like as well in the future, for the moment i live in a tube of self awareness/confusion; with time and with experience & skills and the knowledge, like it or not, what I investigate will pass through me and I'll see what life brings to me. I can t tell you exactly what, now, but you will see it's going to be incredible !

Where do you imagine yourself in 5 years from now?

It' s up to me to decide.

How do you think life will be in Athens in the next  following years? 

I want to believe in a small revival, but maybe it is a utopia. Dense fog in politics. What is the game, who are the players and what are the plans for Greece I don't  know. I prefer to live in the moment without thinking about the future, since it will happen. For the past trapped in the future there is only front and rear. One day even the sun is lost, and new worlds will be born.
