Padula Part 2
Today I was looking to Andreas' photos of Padula. It seems that I am still desperate for fresh air and the countryside. Milan is kind of stuffy... I am looking forward for my greek island exodus at the end of July. Another thing about Padula also is that I met some very nice people who I immediattely became friends with: Alessandro and John of Lovett/Codagnone (see photos above during their perfomance) and most of all the other artists that took part in the show. Thanks to Martina Cavallarin who took care of all us and of course nothing would have been succeeded without the help of Giampaolo Abbondio of Galleria Pack in Milano.

Fresco Bosco in Padula
I am back to the urban Milan from a 3-day trip to Padula in the south of Italy. I was participating in the show "Fresco Bosco" curated by Achille Bonito Oliva. The monastery of San Lorenzo were the show was taking place, is one of the most impressive buildings of all the Southern Italy. It was founded in 1306 and for many centuries was the most important economic and cultural centre of the area. The luxurious and spacious cells of the monastery have become apparently a host to the Fresco Bosco artworks over the last few years creating a big contemporary art collection. The collection includes works of Anish Kapoor, Michelangelo Pistoletto, Ghada Amer, Sol LeWitt and Piero Golia. The Neenstar Flags is my participation.

Veramone for Mykonos headaches
Because the city of Mykonos is totally a headache, this object above is what I needed during one of my attempts looking for something nice while wandering the streets. This lovely sculpture was on the shelves in a friendly antique store- maybe one of the few remaining cool places. Veramone used to be a pain-killer for headaches in the 20's and 30's.

Cream Hong Kong
Cream is a seasonal Hong-Kong based concept book, focused on art and design. Each edition has a different packaging and design based on the theme. The summer edition arrived in a super-lux packaging. The theme of this issue is "Star Wars". I have asked to create something based on a childhood memory I have of one of my favourite films ever. I have contributed 2 drawings, see one above.

Don't mess with the Pirates
The Pirate Party logo
It smells a little bit of China in Sweden these days. ThePirateBay.Org is widely considered one of the biggest file-sharing websites (bit-torrent trackers). Last week the Swedish police raided 10 locations across central Sweden, shutting down the popular file-sharing site. In response to this, the Swedish police's main Web site, Polisen.se, was shut down Thursday night, apparently in a revenge hacker attack. The police site came back online Friday night, but late Saturday, the main Web site of the Swedish government also buckled for several hours under a crash. By Saturday, The Pirate Bay site was mostly online again and it remained operational yesterday. The supportes of Pirate Bay have formed a political party called of course the" Pirate's Party". Since this act, the party has already doubled it's members. One of their mottos :"A hundred years ago we were Christians, today we are file sharers."
