On the Silver Couch : Ben Vickers
Artist Ben Vickers
- How would you define post-internet life in 20 words?
Object orientated and lustful, set in a grid of desperation.
Keywords: ahistorical, 4evaconnected, unforgettable, characterdate, mainstream, 4evavirtual, liminality, facebooksitcom, hundredpercentdreamscape.
- Have you ever had an internet hookup for sexual pleasure or anything else?
I think the majority of my hookups, sexual or otherwise have at least been mediated by the net. The last was brief, intense and relatively anonymous.

My 1000 Drachmas as appeared in current Lifo
A hypothetical new 1000 drachma banknote inspired by Monopoly banknotes. Using familiar symbols such as a banana, (designed by Warhol for the Velvet Underground), or in the middle an allegorical portrait of Greece of a mediterranean version of the Statue of Liberty adorned with the logos of the 2 major greek political parties. The bill will be printed in black and white photocopy because there is no money to print in color and on fine paper. From the above a "giving" Greece says the "NENIKHKAMEN" phrase of the marathon runner Eucles since it seems to possess her a deep optimism and national pride for the capabilities of the 2 political powers .

On the Silver Couch : Sylvia Kouvali
Gallerist Sylvia Kouvali
The last days of the post-74 era in Greece. Rejoice or fear?
The only thing that scares me is the huge gap between what the country needs and all of these measures "taken" in the Parliament. I do not know what to feel. The only feeling I always had, how tourist I was when I used to live in Greece. Even with elections, who all ask, what will change? Everything seems like a perennial soap opera. How weak is everybody, ultimately, how impossible it is to exert effective policies for the future which in these days means salvation for the country.

On the Silver Couch: LuckyPDF
LuckyPDF (l-r Yuri Pattison, John Hill, James Early)
You usually organize a "landscape of events" via our internet society. How did you see the eventful physical cityscape of Athens?
James: Athens is an extension of our social environment now, a location for conversation and art. Watched over by a great monument to civilisation, athens could be the birthplace of new global economic thinking.
John: Having a city surrounded by mountains is bad for your air quality but great for your water pressure.

John: Having a city surrounded by mountains is bad for your air quality but great for your water pressure.
While computer interfacing is a reality does "here" and "there" means something to you?
James: Coming to athens confirmed the importance of travel: as we have adopted the internet as our main 3rd party information tool, we become deadened to understanding reality.
Yuri: I think that "here" and "there" now exist more as emotional ideas, you can still miss someone you're in constant electronic contact with.

Fantasy Plot Generator
Fantasy Plot Generator is a new project comprised by the website (FantasyPlotGenerator.com), a stage and a series of performances. It's a commission for the "Word of Mouth" exhibition, curated by Kernel for the 3rd Athens Biennale -"Monodrome". The website will be the base of the project where visitors invent character names and generate automatically a story with the function of a programming code. This code “borrows” extracted texts from different philosophical dialogues speaking about extreme concepts and social conditions, “remixing” them in a random way and different plots take shape. During the course of the AB3 few of these stories will be “animated” by actors in the exhibition space within a stage of borrowed furniture and costumes from the National Theatre. These perfomances will also take the form of an archive of fotonovelas that will be distributed from here further elaborating read and spoken concepts, a mind connection between space and time.
Actors: Alkistis Poulopoulou, Athina Mathioudaki, Babis Galiatsatos, Electra Nikolouzou, Maria Panourgia, Maria Tzani, Natasha Giannaraki, Nikos Maramathas, Yorgos Kyriakou and more
Next performance: Saturday 5th of Nov 2011 at 17:30
Saturday 3rd of December 2011
