Beaches were not Bodrum's hot spots

but there is some nice beach equipment

and some architectural surprises

abandoned turkish baths

and monuments
 
Many people suggested to visit Pamukkale, a bit further east

where hot springs and travertines

terraces of carbonate minerals left by the flowing water.

Natural lagoons filled with argyle mud.

The springs can be accessed and enjoyed 24/7

The white rocks really offer some amazing metaphysical vibe.

These are the remains of the Roman pools with amazing view of the plains

Pamukkale is built on the roman-byzantine Hierapolis ruins

Ruins are so well-kept but also accessible for everybody (animals included).
Hierapolis is a necropolis

The landscape can be seen from high with paragliding

The market of towels at the nearby Denizli is really worth it

And finally we made to Afrodisias it was 40C!

Lupo stayed around the temple of Venus

While we explored the recently excavated site 

One more stop for shopping at the Army Navy stores of Izmir

 
and final stop before return: the island of Chios

at the phychedelic patterned village of Pyrgi

Books, books, books.  boston ✈ prague ✈ dc ✈ <3 boston="" chicago="" nbsp="" span="">nyc. ✈✈✈ still books, books, books (but inside a kindle now)

What is the most interesting thing about our era now?

That everyone has access to internet/ digital technology —or at the very least awareness of it. It is no longer an elite subculture. It is culture.

How do you see the future of the internet?

I never got into things like LambdaMOO or Second Life and regret missing out. But I think there is a great longing still for the internet to offer make believe as much as representations of reality. It might start to happen in social network spaces as it already has been part of the gaming community
