While I was in Brazil, the exhibition "Part time Punks" curated by Lakis and Aris Ionas was on display at Deste Foundation in Athens. Part Time Punks is an environment with influences from the DIY Punk culture and a reference to a common greek everyday practice, the patent. I have been busy working for the show in Sao Paolo and I did not follow-up on Turkey's ridiculous ban of YouTube.com. This happened in response to a greek-turkish exchange of videos on the site depicting Kemal as gay and Greece as the birthplace of homosexuality. In any case if you just happen to be in Turkey, YouTube is still available through Firefox and you can still access YouTube videos embedded in other pages. To all these fascist morons, esp turks and greeks: Kemal maybe was gay, so what? and thank god homosexuality was born in Greece so shut the fuck up!

Geraldo de Barros (1923-1998) is one of the most notable brazilian artists. He is also one of the pioneers of abstract photography in Brazil and one of the founders of "Grupo Ruptura" which follows the theoretical principles of international Concrete art. His latest solo show is on at the Galeria Brito Cimino in Sao Paolo.
